Hold-uppers struck again last Friday, robbing a group from the First Consolidated Bank (FCB) Foundation and carting away with more than P300,000 in cash. Hours later, a cooperative worker was held up and divested of more than P4,000 in what has been viewed as an open challenge to Mayor Dan Lim's leadership. The twin hold-ups came on the heels of the more celebrated P500,000 heist pulled off days earlier on a cashier from the Unitop Marketing that resulted in the death of security guard.

Initial investigation revealed that four employees of the FCB Foundation went to the bank's main branch on CPG Ave. , near the corner of Belderol St. The victims were identified as Fernando Inguito, 34, married, a native of Sta. Cruz, Baclayon who works as a supervisor of the FCB Foundation located along Mendoza St., Gilbert Mumar, 25, married, of Poblacion, San Miguel, account officer, Vince Cosare, 24, married, of Bonbon, Clarin, account officer, and Rey Tejano, 25, single, account officer, a native of Biliran province. The four had just withdrawn the amount of P336,000 from the FCB main branch and were on their way to deliver the money to Barangay Mariveles, Dauis town. When they were outside the bank, three men suddenly approached them and aimed their guns at the victims.

The suspects quickly snatched the bag containing the cash and immediately fled on a blue Honda XRM motorcycle towards Belderol St. According to Tejano, one of the suspects was armed with either an Uzi or an Ingram while the second was armed with a .45 caliber revolver. He was not sure about the gun of the third suspect. At 8 that night, another hold-up was reported in Dao district. The victim was identified as one Elvira Tapay, 39, a native of Canangkaan, Corella town.

The victim had just emerged from her work at a community hospital and was on her way home. When she passed by a bakeshop in Dao, she decided to drop by to buy bread. One of the suspects pretended to buy bread while the other aimed his gun at her and declared a hold-up. The suspect then grabbed the bag of the victim containing more or less P4,000. The victim tried to recover her bag but one of the three suspects fired his gun at her. Fortunately, the bullet did not hit her. The suspects then fled aboard a red motorcycle. As this developed, Lim issued a warning to the suspects that he will not take the series of hold-ups sitting down. Lim virtually made a threat to the suspects to “surrender or die”.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
