K OF C Lindaville celebrates 20th anniversary

The Knights of Columbus Sir Knight Pedro Caunan Council #9329 of Virgen Sang Barangay Parish at Lindaville Subdivision will be holding the culmination of the 20th Anniversary activities on December 9, 2006 at the Virgen Sang Barangay Parish Church Compound Lindaville Subdivision. This was disclosed by Dr. Vitaliano A. Luga – Dep.Ed Supervisor and Incumbent Grand Knight, and a Businessman Augusto B. Pascual – Deputy Grand Knight and Program Director and Retired Radiologist, Luis L. Ayos Chairman of the Award Committee.

Among the highlights of the festivities which started last October during the Columbus and Rosary Month is Eucharist Celebration and giving of testimonial AWARDS OF RECOGNITION for the Charter Members and Past Grand Knights as well as the outstanding members of the Council for the past two (2) decades or twenty (20 years and the Coronation Rites for the 20th anniversary couple, MOTORCADE AND CHRISTMAS PARTY of Fraternal Dinner.

The Council #9329 was established last October 2006 is the first KC Council #3290 based in the Our Lady of Lourdes Church Parish then followed the Cathedral Council #5698, Virgen Sang Barangay Council #8362 then the Council #9329 based in the Virgen Sang Barangay Parish Lindaville Subdivision. The Council #9329 is named after farmer Bohol Council Grand Knights the Late Professor Pedro Caunan who is one of the pioneering members of the Knights of Columbus of Bohol. Other pioneering members where the late Pedro Camacho the late Magdalino Camacho, the late Juan Pernia, Retired Judge Dionisio Calibo Sr. among others.

Before the creation of Bohol Council #3290 Boholano Knights of Columbus members has to attend or participate K of C activities in Cebu City.

The Council # 9329 was establish in Lindaville through the efforts for Nemi Monton former Faithful Navigator of the Msgr. Gelacio Ramirez forth degree assembly and past Grand Knight of Virgen Sang Barangay Council # 8362 and District Warden and now Provincial Director for membership. Together with Msgr. Margarito Gonzaga and the late District Deputy Cecilio Miñosa Sr.

The charter Grand Knights of Council #9329 is City Prosecutor Conrado Supremo – 1986-87. Then followed by the following Grand Knights: Aproniano A. Alfarero – CY 87-90 Inocentes G. Azarcon Jr. – CY 1990 – 1991; Maurito R. Lim – CY 1991 – 1992; Tomas P. Mongcupa (+) – CY 1992 – 1993; Bartolomie A. Auza – CY 1993 – 1994; Aurelio S. Gambuta – CY 1994 – 1995; Andres Dano (+) – CY 1995 – 1996; Faustino B. Arias – CY- 1997 – 1999; Greg M. Loayon – CY 1999 – 2001; Ranulfo L. Suarez – CY 2001 – 2002; Glicerio B. Jubac – CY 2004 – 2005; Vitaliano A. Luga Incumbent – CY 2007 – 2008.

The following clergy who served as Chaplains and Assistant Chaplaints are: Msgr. Margarito R. Gonzaga (Charter Chaplain); Msgr. Feleciano Nalzaro; Msgr. Avelino “Billy” Onyot ; Rev. Fr. Manuel “Mao” Mendez ; Rev. Fr. Ruben Angla; Rev. Fr. Orlando “Andoi” Mendez.

The Lindaville K of C council #9329 has been receiving multiple awards of recognition from the New Haven Connecticut USA for the past twenty years especially the Father Barnabas Awards for the Outstanding Performance of the Columbians Squire Circle, the Youth Organization of the Knights of Columbus.

The Knights of Columbus International with 1.6 Million members is the world’s largest Catholic family fraternal service organization. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, the community, families and young people. The Knights of Columbus at all levels of the organization raised and distributed million to charity and rendered million.
