PNP Director Arturo Evangelista Leaves Bohol
« on: October 17, 2016, 07:00:18 PM »
EVEN if provincial police director SSupt Arturo Evangelista is relieved from his post, the high incidence of crime here won’t come to an end.

A town mayor who did not sign the petition of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP-Bohol Chapter) asking “to change the image and leadership of the Bohol police” said peace and order does not only rest in the hands of the police.

“If the present socio-economic crisis continue and people’s lives remain to be miserable, crimes against properties and killings will continue,” he said requesting anonymity.

He pointed to the real situation in many towns where people have no jobs, families barely eating twice a day, children not going to school and the reliance of many to games of chance like masiao-suertres.

“Robberies, killings (for hire) or violent incidents are indication of despair. Many Boholano actually feel their lives are not getting any better,” he added.

The same observation is reflected in the last poll survey of the Holy Name University Research Center saying many Boholanos still find little hope of a better life in the next few years.

Local support Local executives were reported to have resented an earlier comment from Evangelista questioning the use of the intelligence funds that is appropriated by LGUs annually.

The 45 mayors who signed the petition against Evangelista were believed doing it as their way of hitting back the police provincial director.

LMP-Bohol President Inabanga Mayor Roygie Jumamoy however said they actually do not mean to ask that Evangelista be relieved.

The mayors said they have full trust of Gov. Erico Aumentado who personally chose Evangelista as police provincial director and it is up to him to appraise the present situation of the high incidence of crime here.

Aumentado earlier said he does not believe local mayors are not supporting the police with their intelligence funds.

“I don’t agree to that,” he said when asked by some members of the media.

“Intelligence funds are not only for police operations support. These funds are also used for some other related programs including maintaining the activities and projects of the local peace and order councils in every municipality,” the governor explained. - Published on September 3, 2006

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
