TO MAKE the Loboc 400 celebration more meaningful and memorable, the steering committee embarked on a song writing competition wherein the melody and lyrics are originally created or composed.

The competition is open all Lobocanons by birth, by blood or affinity, residing in and outside Loboc, except members of the Loboc 400 Song Committee.

Lyrics should be in Cebuano-Visayan which may be derived from the Prayer for Loboc 400, which is carried in "Ang Bato." It should reflect the evangelization process of Loboc. It may be a song of praise, petition, devotion or thanksgiving.

The composition should be sung within a minimum of two minutes and a maximum of three minutes, to be recorded in a cassette tape. Only the title of the song should be written on the cover of the cassette tape. Other identifying mark/s can disqualify the entry.

Each entry should be packed and sealed in an envelope, accompanied with a printed or typewritten copy of the lyrics. No name should be written on the lyrics sheet and on the tape. A duly accomplished application or entry form, which would be coded by the Loboc 400 Secretariat, shall serve as sole identification.

The song should be sung simply in one voice, without any other voice parts, a capella, that is, without any accompaniment or if with any, should be limited to guitar or simple piano or keyboard.

Percussion and orchestral arrangements are be allowed.

The musical score or notation is optional.

A participant may submit a maximum of three entries.

A screening committee will short list the entries into only ten from which the Board of judges will select the best.

Only the first place winner will receive the grand prize of 10,000 pesos. All other finalists will receive a consolation prize of 1,000 pesos each.

The decision of the board of judges is final.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
