Guv sends a message of hope and thanksgiving
Published: December 24, 2006 by The Bohol Standard

Speaking to the thousands of provincial government employees during their Christmas get-together party held at the Bohol Cultural Center Friday night, Gov. Erico B. Aumentado sent a message of hope and the virtue of giving thanks to all the blessings received in a year.

“This year, I have much to be thankful for. Let me take this opportunity then to thank the Almighty God for his guidance and strength, my family for their unwavering support, and you, my beloved Boholano brethren, for the gift of appointing me as your humble public servant. I thank each one of you who has rallied assiduously beside me for the progress of our province and helped breath life to our programs of economics opportunity and prosperity to all,” the governor said.

Sharing the feelings of all Christians, he said Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year.

“Christmas is the time for hope and renewed promise, of joyful expectation for young and old alike. It’s the season where loved ones come home to listen to same old yuletide carols and partake in the quintessential exchange of gifts. It has been said that no Christmas is ever complete without gift giving. Verily, every Christmas, Our Savior Jesus Christ is reborn. And in every tiny gift, of different shapes and of various forms, as long as these wrapped in love, we give to one another the greatest gift of all, Jesus,“ the governor said, speaking with candor like a good father to his children.

“While we also presently stand on the shifting sands of a passing year and on the threshold of a brand new one, I pledge the same to you that I will continue to provide you my undiminished loyalty, commitment and dedication as I have done over the past six years,” he reiterated his commitment to his people.

The Christmas and get together party was marked with the spirit of sharing as each department brought their own food and shared it with everybody. Many also went home with gifts and prizes in the raffles conducted for provincial government employees.
Romans 10:9-10
"If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
