Tabo Congress in BienUnido, Bohol
« on: June 28, 2009, 09:39:02 PM »
The “Tabo Congress” held last May 27 in the public market of Bien Unido sent off the revival of traditional market day or “tabo” after a hiatus.

Bien Unido Mayor Niño Rey Boniel led local officials and municipal employees in holding the event that gathered village heads, stakeholders and visiting entrepreneurs from neighboring towns together.

Governor Erico Aumentado, Vice-Governor Julius Caesar Herrera and the three Provincial Board members from the second district also graced the event.

Highlights included Jagna Mayor Exuperio Lloren’s inspirational message and insights on market operation based on experience.

The local government of Bien Unido has envisioned the revival of “tabo” to showcase the abundant marine products of the coastal and island barangays of the municipality like the rare species of sea shells, clams and various species of fish and other fish products.

On the other hand, vendors of various cash crops, vegetables and spices from neighboring towns committed to display their products during the market day every Wednesday as set in a municipal ordinance.

The launching activity started with a community prayer led by Rev. Fr. Tommy Ugpo, who was instrumental and supportive in the preparation phase prior to the formal launching, and was capped with the covenant signing by all stakeholders led by Boniel himself.

The covenant aimed at building commitment to make the Tabo sustainable and enduring.

Mayor Boniel invites everyone to experience the “Tabo sa Bien Unido” where fresh seafoods matched with varieties of cash crops quantifies a sumptuous meal treat that’s hard to resist. (Diosdado Bazar-HRMO-MPIO)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
