Intensified anti-criminality efforts cause 17.14% drop in crime rate in Western Visayas
ILOILO CITY, June 1 (PNA) -- Crime incidents in Western Visayas dropped by around 17.14 percent during the first four months of this year compared with the same period in 2015.
The crime solution efficiency and the crime clearance efficiency during the period likewise increased by 59.18 percent and 60.52 percent, respectively. In 2015, the solution efficiency was at 51.60 percent while the clearance efficiency was 52.98 percent.
Data from the Police Regional Office (PRO6) disclosed of 19,647 cases from January to April this year while in 2015, 23,710 incidents were recorded.
Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, chief of the PRO 6 regional public information office, said that the high accomplishment was a result of the implementation of the Lambat Sibat program, One Time Big Time (OTBT) operation, implementation of search warrant and Integrated Patrol Deployment Plan (IPDP).
