DOLE mulls incorporating green skills dev’t in curriculum
MANILA, June 1 (PNA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) aims to develop the curriculum and training courses for skills necessary in driving a greener Philippine economy.

Dominique Tutay, Director of DOLE’s Bureau of Local Employment, said that with the passage of the Philippine Green Jobs Act, there will be an increasing demand for developing skills tailored for the green job sector.

”There are certain requirements from the green industry for green skills and this information will be supplied in the educational training curriculum,” said Tutay in Filipino during the Command Conference held in the Department of Education’s Central Office in Pasig City on Monday.

Tutay said DOLE will be crafting the road map of the National Green Jobs Human Resource Development, which focuses on the development, enhancement and utilization of the labor force, both in the private and public sectors.

It shall include programs, projects, and activities pertaining to basic, higher and technical-vocational education and training, database that identifies and links green job opportunities with private and public entities, and information on knowledge and skill requirements of a green economy.

It will also facilitate skills training assessment and certification, career advocacy, provide productivity and livelihood training, and extend technical assistance to enterprises to ensure labor law compliance.

DOLE, will be partnering with key agencies such as DepEd, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Commission on Higher Education (CHED), to upgrade programs, training courses and curricula for green skills development. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
