IPHO workers attend to health needs of displaced families in Lanao Sur
COTABATO CITY, June 1 (PNA) -- Health authorities in Lanao del Sur are working doubly hard to prevent an outbreak of any disease common in evacuation sites.

Dr. Allen Minalang of Lanao del Sur Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) said health workers are scrambling to address the health needs of thousands of civilians displaced by the armed conflict in Butig, Lanao del Sur that is still ongoing since May 20.

Minalang said health workers have visited the villages of Coloyan, Samer, Bayabao, Raya Timbab, Sandab and Ragayan to assess the condition of the displaced families.

At least 54 jihadists were killed by air and ground assaults. Two soldiers were also killed and nine others injured.

Minalang assured that first aid has been applied to evacuees who are potentially vulnerable to diseases like children and elders.

A massive medical outreach program is scheduled any day now to attend to the health needs of all displaced families waiting for the green light from the military for them to return home.

Col. Roseller Murillo, 103rd Infantry Brigade chief, said the government forces will continue to hunt down the group of Maute, a local terrorist band that pledged allegiance to the international terror group ISIS.

Around 9,000 civilians have been displaced from six villages

Relief workers from Humanitarian Emergency Assistance and Response Team (HEART) of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) are now in Butig distributing emergency relief assistance to affected families. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
