That's a thought-provoking question, Ms. Asianfairy!  Tama bitaw, we all want to go to heaven but we don't want to die.  I guess we are not comfortable yet with what we have done in our lifetime to assure that we are really going to heaven.  Or, we have bagagges in life that we are not wiling to let go like our family and friends, the comfort in life.  I guess it's also the certainty of life on earth rather than the uncertainty of after-death life.  In other words, we human beings are segurista.  Siguro if somebody can really document with pictures and all, that life after death is really like what we perceived it is to be in heaven, maybe there's no more point in being here on earth ug mag isig pagpakamatay nlang kita.

Interesting topic, Ms. Asianfairy!  Thanks!

Fellow TB members,

Ug mao ni:

Everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die.

Why?

[/quote

Got to chew over the above-stated question. ???
Honestly, considering that our World situation is still counted as Paradise, so, nobody surrenders her/his enjoyment privileges.

I used to think what my Ex-Boss Fiscal....... had often told me on time that I complained of receiving very less salary and doing all the commanded works.  Kalingaw kog baktas...kay dili igo na iplete ug trysikol, no extra for snacks gani...gutom)  He said: " Be satisfied of yourself, you are healthy, you look very sexy and a good looking lady (28 years ago),you have enough admirers,  you are a jolly/nice person and you can buy lipstick out of that money....it is heaven what and where you are now."  And he added: "Look at me......I have enough money, too much lots, cows, nice house, got a car, but my kids are often sick and have a very maddening and jealous wife". It is a sad situation.

So, if you are satisfied  of your life then you are happy and that is heaven for me, he said. Then.....I decided to be happy and feeling like in heaven at the time.  Another heaven can wait! I have still time....i think!  I hope no more examination there. (basing other thread  ;D)

I've been asking through my prayers from those deceased relatives to give me a sign where they are based now.......but all left unanswered...is there really an eternal life after death as what we used to believe and pray in "I believe in GOD"?...

To the question above......i come to conclusion that....."no one wants to die because they are not 100%  sure of their belief that there is an eternal life after death. Just imagine, a heaven where you need not to work...no stress, you will see your love ones who left ahead, isn't wonderful?......As what Grazie pointed out, if there is somebody can really document how heaven really is? There might be a perceived conflict to this belief? We must have to leave whether we like it or not and that is reason why everyone is afraid to face the real truth......give up the perfect heaven on earth (Heaven...as what my Ex-Chief describes). Everyone is not willing to die to give up the luxury in life and thats the bitter reality. And the belief that there is eternal life after death (Heaven) it is a bit consolation to face that we are only guest of this Earth. And we are all Mortal.

I hope you get my point of view.......Asianfairy

I understand..and I can only agree with you and Ging.

Tinood man gyod na nga seguresta ta..kay kon naa pay nakaestorya (well documented) nga tua na sa heaven ron..siguro di na mahadlok mga tawo mamatay kay ang heaven sa taas wa naman daw makalupig.

So to sum it up. No one is 100% willing to die just to go to heaven..even those who have a strong faith in God.

Heaven resides in our heart. If we are happy, then it's heaven...if our heart is full of rage and hatred, then it's hell.

Hi Junayag,

Sometimes....i feel I'mi n "mediocrity" if I got no ideas how to participate interesting topics here and feel in heaven knowing lot of nice
people involved and mostly exchanging opinions ended  first into a cyber frindship, and it is just a good start of course.

Yes, Asian this is the kind of heaven where other people  got no single knowledge about  the real life here in Europe.

Be kind to your mother-in-law by calmly asking her "Would you mind dance for me while I sing?"......if she will ask you
why?  Just answer her with a smile......."I want to be perfectly happy in heaven".   :D I mean......in Paradise.

Fellow TB members,

naa koy gamay ipangutana...ug kani ako rasab nadungog sa radio dire. Dugay sab ko ani naghunahuna para sa akong tubag mao nga I am sharing this all to you. Kay daghan man dire mga bright.

Ug mao ni:

Everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die.

Why?

A very thought provoking question, Ate Anel, one that is rather universalist in the scheme of things, if I say so myself . Humans, despite of our racial, ethno and lingual difference, are purely similar. All of us, despite our geographic differences experience the same psychological anxieties, fears, dreams, yearning to succeed, intuitive traits to question our surroundings, and for the most part (though there are those who deny the existence of a greater force), are subject to religious doctrine that provides a moral backing in times of need and of comfort. In life, we are so amalgamated to stress, to deal with it, though  it comes in multiple forms--per se--giving birth, raising children, working and providing the source of sustenance for dependents, providing physical and psychological care to friends, family etc. All of these  activities manifests some sort of stress, which we both detest, fear, love, get used to. The journey of life, which differs from person to person, enables all of us to experience these kinds of feelings, and though we complain certain aspects of our lives--in the trueness of it all, we do accept and enjoy it (either subconsciously or outright). We fear death because we fear the alienation of our joys, happiness, yearnings, needs, and all the factors that enables endorphinitic effects, positive conditionings (laughing with family, hugging your child, husband, wife, mother, grandfather, grandmother, eating and making jokes as you laugh, etc). Death is a total loss of such experiences, it is complete and final. There is no return from death, despite one's dreams and innate want and need to see loved ones again.

In the medical and biological field, death is final. Decomposition of the body, which is the manifestation of the absoluteness of death, tells us that though we humans as apex species, cannot explain how so much emotions we experience in life, faith etc, can be so totally removed. Deleted, so to say, in the phase of death. It is a natural fear, a natural state, that not only humans experience, but all other animals in different genus, phylum and kingdoms in God's green earth also experience. Do not carabaos cry and panic as they are fatally bitten by crocodiles? Do not lion cubs scream before death when they are mauled by hyenas in the absence of their mother and lion pack? Do not birds twitch before they starve to death when their mother and father do not come back after gathering sustenance? Yet, despite nature's cruelness at times, death is part of life. Just as we, as people, need to rest after a hard days work in the farm, in the hospital, in the pharmacy, in the painting studio, in the bank, in the engineering firm; so to our bodies. In our lives, our body constantly is in work, our heart pumps over 60 gallons of blood throughout our system every day and tirelessly since its formation in the womb, our lungs pump air tirelessly in in order to provide oxygenated blood throughout the cardiothoracic, respiratory, and nervous system; the same applies for our liver, kidneys, gall bladder, prostate, brain etc.  An organ, organism, population can only operate for so long--we are finite beings, not infinite. We are not God or Gods, despite our yearning to live forever, to experience continuously---God did not create and plan our bodies for that intended purpose. Just as we were conceived in the womb and given life in birth, so too is it natural for us to experience death. It is a necessary part of life.

Fear of death is anxiety (or emotional recoil) experienced in anticipation of the event. Such fearful anticipation is basically the result of a failure to observe the death process in others and to study that process through systematic education and self-observation.Death is a necessary, purposeful, and (ultimately) benign psycho-physical process. It is similar to the process of giving birth, except that it occurs to both males and females. As in the case of preparing for childbirth, you must study the death process bodily and through observing others. Above all, tension and fear must be relaxed during the death process (as it must be in the case of a woman in childbirth). You must relax and release, as when going to sleep — in a feeling of deep trust, love, and surrender to the Divine Reality on Which the process depends.

On the basis of a concept of heaven or hell; I do believe in these two states. To die, to rest, to see the creator is not something that I fear---it is the process of dying--that sends chills down my spine. To be completely cut away from my loved ones, and even the fear of loosing my parents in the future, is something that aches my heart. However, though we fear the onset of death, one must realize that there is only so much we can do. As physicians, one cannot prevent death, one can only prolong life--and though science dictates and enables the body to surmount over diseases etc, there is only so much we can do. We survive if our bodies are able to cope with our willing mind.

This reminds me of the proverbial saying:
The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.

One has to realize that death will take each of us in the future. We all die, the difference is the manner of our demise.
Fear not death or the devil's taunts and false promises, for the Lord God who created the Universe, the stars and the world, and our bodies in his own image, is kind and a noble judge. The rewards we experience in earth pales in comparison and is a speck of a dot compared to the rewards we will have in Heaven. To see the face of God and sing HIS praise, time everlasting. When I think of that, death, becomes nothing to me.

Hello Asian,

A part of heaven.....I had experience with Fiscal Ucat, Jr. A.(you know him, right?)  He is a very intelligent/perfectionist/accurate/distinguished/amusing, joker and in truth he is very "strict" in person.

Substituted her Secretary, it was really a busy days...we had 2 preliminary investigations and had suffering a
just started eye infection "Piscat"...and he dictated me orders, resolutions and other legal documents in
stenographic notes..while I had just finished typing my translation had given to him for signature.  Called me with a high voice
and said:  "Matay pod ka Bambi...imo pang usbon ahong iningles ??( where not able to read clearly my stenographic notes
and everything must be in a hurry for the next instance...I just answered him with a smile of shame due to my mistakes
"No, Sir I did not change your words..i just simply corrected those"  And instead of getting mad (because all office mates
were amused of my answer) he was very much laughing and got a red head due to my crazyness.  It was a long funny incidents
which until now they never forget it...if during vacation I visited my old office. We were all happy despite of a stressful days.
Had seen him a long period of time where he has a strong diabetes tawon.

And two days later....he got Piscat pod....and he shouted again...where is Bambi?
It was a nice part of my young life and it was heaven for me too.

Heaven resides in our heart. If we are happy, then it's heaven...if our heart is full of rage and hatred, then it's hell.

In regards to this, then heaven to me was when I was reunited with my Lolo Ciano in September 2003, as he came to the United States and lived with us for 2 years before going back to Bohol (as he severely missed Bohol, and missed visiting my Lola Nating's grave site). I enjoyed every day being with my Lolo, talking to him at late night and helping him dress, undress, assisting him in his medicine. I can remember crying my eyes out when I was helping him take his medicine--because i would think of loosing him in the future. "Ayaw pa hilak, ondoy. Apil man jud ni sa atong buhay, maluuy ang ginoo buhi pa ko intawn, nakakita pa ko ninyo dinhi sa Amerika." He said that to me, and i just hugged my Lolo.

Thinking about that, brings tears to my eyes, because it is crazy how time passes, because i remember when I was still 5 years old and my Lolo would take me with him and my cousins Joseph, Forlyn, John-John, and Christian to Bajang Springs. He would take us to the beach and all of us would be holding on to him when we were swimming. Hugging us and laughing with us, my dear Lolo...
It was heaven to be with him during my childhood and it was heaven again to see him physically and be with him. And I thank God everday for allowing me to experience Heaven to be around with him for the time given we had with him------

Thanks, Ginger, for bringing that saying. 'Heaven is in our Heart'. Bless you.

Dong Enzo, that's a very heart-warming story of you and your Lolo.  I missed my grandfather, Tatay Macario too. He was the first person on earth that believed in me - even before I could believe myself.  I think he is in heaven right now and watching over us his family.

Sorry guys, this is kind of long but let me just share this to all of you.  I got this from one of those forwarded emails from a friend.  I don't always take notice to forwarded emails but this one I did notice.  I hope we can reflect our life on this.  Thanks!

Once upon a time there was this girl who had four boyfriends.

She loved the 4th boyfriend the most and adorned him with rich robes and treated him to the finest of delicacies. She gave him nothing but the best. She also loved the 3rd boyfriend very much and was always showing him off to neighboring kingdoms. However, she feared that one day he would leave her for another. She also loved her 2nd boyfriend. He was her confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with her. Whenever this girl faced a problem, she could confide in him, and he would help her get through the difficult times. The girls 1st boyfriend was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining her wealth and kingdom. However, she did not love the first boyfriend. Although he loved her deeply, she hardly took notice of him.

One day, the girl fell ill and she knew her time was short. She thought of her luxurious life and wondered, I now have four boyfriends with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone.' Thus, she asked the 4th boyfriend, I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?' 'No way!', replied the 4th boyfriend, and he walked away without another word. His answer cut like a sharp knife right into her heart. The sad girl then asked the 3rd boyfriend, 'I loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?' 'No!', replied the 3rd boyfriend. 'Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to marry someone else!' Her heart sank and turned cold. She then asked the 2nd boyfriend, 'I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?' I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!', replied the 2nd boyfriend. 'At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave.' His answer struck her like a bolt of lightning, and the girl was devastated. Then a voice called out: 'I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go.'
The girl looked up, and there was her first boyfriend. He was very skinny as he suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the girl said, 'I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!'

In truth, you have 4 boyfriends in your lives:

Your 4th boyfriend is your body. No matter how much time and effort you lavish in making it look good, it will leave you when you die.

Your 3rd boyfriend is your possessions, status and wealth. When you die, it will all go to others.

Your 2nd boyfriend is your family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for you, the furthest they can stay by you is up to the grave.

And your 1st boyfriend is your Soul. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world. However, your Soul is the only thing that will follow you where ever you go. Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part of you that will follow you to the throne of God and continue with you throughout Eternity.

Thought for the day: Remember, when the world pushes you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray.

this a forwarded e-mail from a friend.

HEAVEN AND HELL

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, Lord, I
would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.' The Lord led the holy man to
two doors.

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the
room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew
which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water. The people sitting
around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished.

They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their
arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a
spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get
the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their
misery and suffering. The Lord said, 'You have seen Hell.'

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was etly the same as the
first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made
the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled
spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.
The holy man said, 'I don't understand.'

It is simple' said the Lord, 'it requires but one skill. You see, they have
learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.' When
Jesus died on the cross he was thinking of you! Only 7% of the people who read
this will share it with others. 93% of people won't forward this!

Great stories, thanks for sharing girls :)

About the question..

For me Heaven resides in our heart.. A person who has a good heart and do good deeds has a heart of gold, therefore this person goes to heaven.

An nobody wants to die or afraid to die, because we can't bear to leave our loveone's behind, same as we don't want them to leave us.
