Vice-Gov Edgar Chatto lauds barangays for Project FAITH

Vice Gov. Edgar M. Chatto commended two barangays of Balilihan for
venturing another successful initiative being at the forefront in bringing about food security to every Boholano family here. Implemented through Project FAITH or Food Always in the Home, the project was conceived under the concept of the People Enhancement Program (PEP) with the ultimate aim of giving genuine peace and social development to the Boholano communities.
PEP was first initiated during the holding of the Bohol Peace Forum
implemented by the Provincial Government of Bohol through the close
coordination of the different municipal government units across the province.
Pleased on the deep concern manifested by the concern barangay officials
of Baucan Norte and Baucan Sur with the support of LGU of Balilihan
through Mayor Dominicio Chatto, Vice Gov. Chatto vowed strong support
of the provincial government for the effective implementation of the
project inasmuch as the newly launched project has coincided with
the province's food security agenda.
The ceremonial launching held on Dec. 29, 2000 held at the project site was attended by group of people who outwardly manifested their deep appreciation for the present leadership for hearing the call of food security among Boholanos. "Pagkaon para sa Lamisa", the " Bol-anong Binhi Project", a rice and vegetables seeds distribution project of the Provincial Government through the stewardship of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist were among those who have brought forth greater impact on the lives of the Boholano small farmers here.
