PGMA to inaugurate P42 M seamen’s hospital
Iloilo City (28 June 2005) -- The Associated Marine Officers’ and Seamen’s Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP) has taken steps to provide quality health care among its members and their dependents here in Western Visayas through the facilities of the newly constructed Seamen’s Hospital Iloilo.
This P42 million hospital in the district of Mandurriao is scheduled to be inaugurated by no less than President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who is expected to arrive here in Iloilo City tomorrow, June 30, along with Senate President Franklin Drilon.
The Iloilo Seamen’s Hospital is a satellite facility of the AMOSUP and one of the three hospitals under its Family Medical and Dental Plan. The other two are located in Manila and Cebu. The project is in line with AMOSUP’s and their Seamen’s Hospital’s vision of creating satellite facilities offering quality health care nationwide.
Accredited by the Department of Health (DOH) standards as a secondary hospital, this three-story facility has a total floor area of 3,300 sq. meters and a capacity of 40 beds. It will be staffed by a team of competent medical practitioners duly certified in their fields of expertise. Competent and experienced nurses from other Seamen’s Hospitals will initially be assigned to provide nursing care.
Also, services at this new facility will be fully departmentalized: Pediatrics; Surgery; Internal Medicine; Obstetrics-Gynecology; EENT; Pathology and Radiology. Ancillary services will include dietary and food service, pharmacy, emergency room, operating and delivery rooms and ambulance service.
Information obtained by PIA from the Seamen’s Hospital Iloilo said that all medical and surgical services including laboratory, x-ray and ultrasound in this facility will be offered to members and their dependents free of charge. Medicines will also be dispensed free of charge. (PIA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
