Snap election, PGMA resignation absurd - Bunye
MANILA (26 June 2005) -- The calls for snap elections or the resignation of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo are absurd.
Press Secretary and Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye made the statement in response to protests calling for President Arroyo's resignation and Senator Raul Roco's proposal for a snap elections to solve the current political crisis.
Bunye reiterated that President Arroyo won fair and square in last year's election and advised those who bear the wounds of defeat to wait for the next Presidential elections.
The Palace official cautioned that if they do not agree with the rules, they should not impede the President from leading the nation in achieving the goals she has set for the people particularly the Filipino poor.
He also warned the foes of the present administration to desist from sabotaging the economy by sowing political unrest, and added that they must be sporting enough to wait for their turn. (PIA-MMIO)
