Philippine Government finally wins Tarongoy freedom
by Jennilyne O. Casimiro
La Union (23 June) -- Robert Tarongoy’s release from his Iraqi abductors after 7-months of captivity brought the nation in joy most especially to his family who never lost hope for his safe release.

The event manifests the government’s sincerity in handling trying moments and won victory with zest. Malacañang stressed that Tarongoy’s courage and perseverance of the Iraq crisis team sealed the victory. Our faith will carry us through all trials.

On the wiretapping hearing, Cebu Rep. Clavel Martinez claimed she was convinced that it was the President and Garcillano on the tape and promised to bring one in the Congressional session today. The question at hand is the authenticity of the said tape, the mere fact that several tapes are in circulation already.

The issue on whether or not the audiotapes be aired is laid upon the decision of the committees handling the case and our respect for their rulings should be given.

Our quest for the truth should not be exploited by an investigation turning political circus in the lower house.

On the economic side, Malacañang assured the people that despite political crises, the government is continuously venturing into all possibilities to lessen the consequences of the socioeconomic pressures. The government is committed in generating more investments, both local and foreign; provide more job opportunities; instituting reforms to maintain fiscal stability and implement more pro-poor programs.

The continuous attempts to discredit the government does not impair the dedication and commitment of the President in carrying out her planned programs and projects to uplift the poor living condition of the people.

With all the trials the country is facing into, we are holding on to the hope brought about by the courage of Tarongoy and the sacrifice for the common good of Cardinal Sin. (PIA Ilocos)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
