PGMA names Senga as next AFP Chief but delays command turnover until August
Butuan City (24 June 2005) -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has named Philippine Army commanding general, Lt. Gen. Generoso Senga as the next Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff but outgoing AFP chief, Gen. Efren Abu will momentarily remain in office.

Gen. Abu is supposed to retire from office but Press Secretary Ignacio R. Bunye, in a statement today, said Abu "will continue to serve as AFP Chief of Staff in the meantime to ensure smooth transition of military leadership."
Abu reached his mandatory retirement age of 55 today, June 24.

Bunye, who is also the Presidential Spokesman, said Senga will assume the top AFP post effective August of this year, while Army Special Operations Group commander, Maj. Gen. Hermogenes Esperon, will take over Senga's post as Philippine Army commanding general. (PIA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
