Palace spells out major accomplishments in 2015
The Aquino administration counts the drop in the number of Filipinos leaving to work abroad, the decrease in the number of poor families, and maintaining a robust economy among its major accomplishments this year, Communication Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr. said on Tuesday.
“Tinanong si Pangulo diyan. Isa sa mga nabanggit niya ay ang napababang bilang ng mga OFWs (overseas Filipino workers), nabawasan na ito ng halos kalahating milyon, I think 400,000 to 500,000,” Secretary Coloma said during a media briefing in Malacañang, when asked about the government’s major accomplishments in 2015.

He further said that the government was able to reduce the number of poor families in the country this year through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Coloma also noted the remarkable decline in the number of out-of-school youth, which he attributed to the implementation of the K to 12 basic education program as well as the 4Ps.

The country’s economy, he said, also remains strong despite the sluggish global economy.

“Isa pa rin tayo sa pinakamabilis ang pag-unlad at napanatili natin ang investment grade rating,” he added.

The Palace official said the Philippines also showed to the world its capability to organize major events with the country’s successful hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Summit last November, and Pope Francis’ visit last January. PND (as)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
