Leyte civil society leaders meet on political and constitutional reforms

Tacloban City (30 July 2005) -- A Provincial Civil Society Leaders Conference on Political and Constitutional Reforms will be convened on July 30, 2005 at the SMED Center Conference Room in Tacloban City.

This conference is being initiated by the Leyte coalition of Development NGOs and POs (Leyte Code) in response to the current political situation.

The provincial consultation is primarily an educational exercise on the basic content and process of Constitutional Reform.

It is also an organization and coalition building exercise to catalyze a provincial based Citizen for Con Con Movement.

Moreover, it is an important part for the over-all campaign to generate the necessary social pressure for Congress to enact a bill on Constitutional convention as soon as possible.

Expected to attend are leaders of the various non-government organizations and peoples organization all over Leyte. (PIA-8)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
