MANILA.- It is said that a women is behind in every throne.
By twist of fate, the two EDSA people power historic events that occurred in the country the past 15 years, two mothers in the persons of Corazon C.Aquino and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo need to become the President of the Philippines through people power revolt.
Mrs. Aquino, wife of slain opposition Sen. Benigno S. Aquino Jr. was catapulted to the highest position of the land during a four-day civilian-backed military uprising from Feb. 22-25, 1986 that toppled one 20-year regime of President Ferdinand Marcos.
Last Tuesday, history repeated itself when the Filipino people surged in unison to EDSA Shrine demanding the resignation of Pres. Joseph Estrada after the Senate voted 11-10, rejecting the opening of an envelope reportedly containing P3.3 billion of money owned by Mr. Estrada during the impeachment trial.
The parallelism between EDSA 1 and 2 was present practically in all aspects.
