The controversial RAR Construction is finally blacklisted from the roll of contractors qualified to bid for government projects nationwide.
DPWH Assistant Regional Director Ernesto Roldan declared Friday before the Sangguniang Panlalawigan that the blacklisting of the contractor is the consequence after his contract was rescinded by the Department of Public Works and Highways when he abandoned a P28 million raod project at the Loay Interior Road.
Roldan appeared before the provincial lawmakers’ regular session last Friday while DPWH Bashir Rasuman, who was requested to attend the session, failed to show up, and instead sent his deputy to answer queries from the provincial SP.
He also announced that another project of RAR Construction which is the P38 million abandoned Loay-Loboc Waterworks Project was likewise rescinded by the regional DPWH.
The blacklisting of the contractor will be in effect for one year.
The explanation of Roldan came to clarify reports that RAR Construction was only asked to stop working at the road project without any penalty. He said that RAR will virtually be dropped from the list of qualified and competent contractors, thus, will be barred from joining any public bidding of government projects for one entire year.
