A church is consecrated
Published January 10, 2001 - Bohol Chronicle

A new temple of God rises today in the progressive town of Ubay which will be consecrated by three prelates, namely, Bishop Christian Vincent Noel of the diocese of Talibon, Bishop Leopoldo Tumulak of the diocese of Tagbilaran and Bishop Emeritus Felix Zafra assisted by Rev. Fr. Felix D. Tabigue, parish priest of Ubay.
The imposing edifice costing P12 million did not rise overnight.  It was conceived at first a handful few of this predominantly Catholic town of Ubay years ago who gave birth to a project which will become the cradle of faith determined to inspire the faithful in the realization of their dreams in the service of God and country.
The newly constructed church which is believed to be the most modern hereabouts has been established to honor the venerable Senyor Santo Nino who has guided the faithful throughout the years.
The financiers and supporters down to the last contributor spent time and treasure to realize their goals.  They did not spare any time and effort what appeared at first to be an impossible dream.  But all sectors in the community polled their resources together and burned the midnight candle so that the modest plans of a humble beginning grew to become  a project of magnitude worthy of the religiosity of the Boholano people befitting the veneration of the Child Jesus who has inspired millions of people in our generation.
Since time immemorial, the venerable Child Jesus has inspired the lives of God fearing people through the years.  This has kept faith with the respected patron saint whose image has miraculously found in a modest village home found by a sailor in Legaspi's fleet which image came all the way from Europe.
During the last World War, a bomb fell inside the house but the image was unscathed.  It was only one of numberless miracles attributed to the Holy Image.
Since then we have faithfully adored and respected the Holy Image all this generation we have preserved our religious and cultural heritage.
Today is indeed a red-letter day as we consecrate this new temple of God which is being honored and venerated by all God-fearing people of this land till the end of time.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
