hello, manoh.  nice of you to drop by.

"pearl" must be a brand of a whitening cream, right?  let me check where it's made and whether or not its mercury content is tolerable.  i hope such data are available on the internet highway.  or would you care to post here the ingredients of this whitening cream that you're endorsing?

there are just too many whitening products out there that are dangerous because of mercury poisoning.  most of these are made in china and india.  we can't be too careful, you know.  so yes, if by chance any tblander would wish to whiten her face no matter if her arms are checkered, do check the mercury content.

a cursory check at www.alibaba.com shows a good number of pearl creams after all.  it makes one wonder what 'pearl cream' really means.  most of these creams are made in china (mainland), while some are made in taiwan.  the list also shows that thailand and india manufacture one brand each.

for banned specific brands of pearl cream whitening products (as tested in the u.s. for mercury content), please go to these links:

http://media.apps.chicagotribune.com/tables/skincreams.html
http://www.whiterskin.info/mercury-is-a-dangerous-skin-lightening-ingredient/#Listcreams

i hope the particular brand that you have isn't part of the list.

This is an interesting thread. In the Philippines , I was amazed that a lot of women use whitening lotions/ soaps / creams. When my friend Don asked me about this , he said, "Why do the women in the Philippines wear those? They're already drop dead gorgeous with their tan skin. Why wear nasty creams for?"

Are they embarrassed of their natural morena beauty?

Isles, some of these whitener creams have toxic ingredients and can actually damage the integumentary system.

When I was walking down the isle at ICM mall at Tagbilaran, I remember hearing a conversation between a mother and her daughter. The daughter apparently was an honors student at high school and the mother was congratulating her on her academic success. Out of no where, the father of the daughter said laughingly, "Bright lagi ka, day, pero itomon jamo ka uy!"

I could not even believe that the father would say something so hijacking to his own daughter. As a customer purchasing some clothing supplies for my relatives, I was shocked at hearing this conversation happening across from me. The daughter was reduced to tears. And the father kept on laughing.

what set this trend first and foremost, i've read somewhere, is nicole kidman who didn't do anything to her pasty white skin.  she made white cool again just as madonna made bushy eyebrows cool again and, before her, there was the late margaux hemingway.

madisgrasya ning nagpaputi nato diri mahimo gyod silang michael jackson.

Botoy is proud of his dark skin.

There are benefits to having darker skin tone. The melanocytes, which are cells located in the epidermis, are responsible for producing melanin, which is what gives one's color and tone. The benefits of melanin is that it protects the body against UV's damaging effects.

Individuals who have lighter skin are more prone to having skin cancer than those who are darker skinned.

too bad there aren't too many dons around to appreciate morena beauties.

some would claim that there are morena skin tones that look dirty, that's why.  but i'm a fan of even toned morenas.  truly, they're drop dead gorgeous.  when they try to whiten their skin, they turn out to be drop dead white laboratory rats. ;D
