Twelve kilometers of well-paved road towards the east from the City of Tagbilaran lies the coastal town of Alburquerque. Originally a part of Baclayon this municipality was once called Segunto. When Segunto became a municipality its name was changed to Alburquerque after an ancient town in Mexico.
Today the people are engaged in pottery, weaving, fishing and farming. (provincial capitol file)
