Has your fluffy pillow suddenly gone flat? Don't toss your beloved bed buddy! Retire your favorite pillow and then reuse it. Here are my five ways to keep pillows out of trash piles.
1. Beef up your mattress. Who says you can't still use your old pillow to help you get a good night's sleep? Slide several saggy ones between your mattress and mattress cover to create your very own pillow top mattress.
2. Move them from the bed to the floor. Gather a group of your floppiest pillows and get ready for some fun. Head to your local fabric store to find a fabulous print, then create some funky floor pillows.
3. Use an old pillow to make a new friend. Contort, cover and apply button eyes! Making a stuffed animal out of a pillow is just that easy. Don't worry if your bear doesn't look just like Yogi. This project is about being creative with your favorite little one.
4. Convert them into decorations. Recover old pillows to match your living room or bedroom décor. To create a more robust looking decorative pillow, you may have to manipulate your old pillow into a new shape.
5. Make an ottoman. Find a sturdy box or a small table to use as your base. Place your old pillow on top and adjust for maximum coverage. Cover your newly created piece of furniture with a fabric that matches your existing décor. Then, put your feet up and enjoy. --
