Dr. Jay Gerona Ylanan and Dr. Almira Eloisa Apalisok Magdoza sealed their vows with the Sacrament of Matrimony on May 30, at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Assumption in Dauis town.

Never in their wildest dreams during the early years in the medical school at Gullas College of Medicine had these two classmates thought they would become lifetime mates.

First, they were just casual friends, then gradually became best of friends until their relationship blossomed into a beautiful and lasting commitment for each other when they were almost at the finish line of their common goal - to be full pledge medical doctors, which they did last year.

The solemn wedding ceremony was officiated by Bishop Leonardo Y. Medroso, D.D. The concelebrants of the Nuptial mass were Msgr. Crispin B. Varquez, V.G., Rev. Fr. Desiderio R. Magdoza, Rev. Fr. Martin Lupiba and Rev. Fr. Valentino Pinlac.

The groom hails from the newly created city of Bogo, Cebu and the youngest of the four children of Cesar Ylanan and Adelaida Gerona Ylanan. He holds a B.S. Biology degree from Velez School of Medicine, before he took up medicine.

Honey, as Dr. Almira Eloisa is fondly called, is the fourth of the five children of Judge Pablo R. Magdoza and Margie Apalisok Magdoza. Like her mom, she is also a pharmacist, with her B.S. Pharmacy degree she got from the University of San Carlos before her medical course.

The wedding reception took place at the lush garden of Panglao Island Nature Resort.

Julius Ylanan was the best man, Michelle Rana, matron of honor and Ma. Margarita Magdoza II, maid of honor; Atty. Pablito Grecio Magdoza, Engr. Handro Sincero, Dr. Alexander Wesly Gaw, were the groomsmen while Rhea Bomediano, Ma. Rosario Ty, Atty. Iodine Andan were the bridesmaids. Candle sponsors, Atty. Leo Malagar and Judge Marlo Malagar, the later who had been in London was being proxied by Crishielda Lao; veil sponsors; Monroe Ho and Pier Angeli Ho; cord sponsors: Mariano Barreto Jr. and Mila Barretto, ring, coin, bible bearers: Leonardo Paolo Malagar, Juan Antonio Malagar and Kent Grant Ylanan, respectively, flower girls: Allison Dierdra Briones, Sheryll Jagdon, Snowie Barretto, Gabrielle Andrea Lao and Paulina Catingub.
