MANILA, Jan. 15 (PNA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) are set to sign a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on Tuesday (January 17), targeting poverty alleviation in the Philippines.
TESDA Director General Guiling Mamondiong on Sunday said such MOA would contribute to enterprises’ productivity and sustainability, as well as to employment generation and poverty reduction.
The agency reiterated that one of its tasks is to give high quality technical education and skills development to help the country produce world-class skilled Filipino workers.
The PCCI, on the other hand, targets to provide focused advocacy for business growth and sustainable development through providing enterprise services for the advancement of grassroots entrepreneurship, chamber development, international trade relations, business innovation, excellence and operation efficiency.
TESDA said that under the MOA, both parties shall promote and facilitate Dual Training System (DTS), and assist business chambers, industry, trade associations and enterprises in the promotion of Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.
Mamondiong, PCCI President George Barcelon, TESDA Deputy Director General Rebecca Calzado and PCCI Human Resources Development Foundation, Inc. President Alfredo Fenix, Jr. will sign the MOA, TESDA said. (PNA)
