Philippine cuisine, culture showcased at Cairo exhibitMANILA, March 1 (PNA) -- Philippine cuisine and culture took center stage during the two-day 14th Sakia Exhibition for Cultural Services (SECS) at the River Hall of the El Sawy Culture Wheel in Cairo, the Department of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday said.
The Philippine Embassy in Cairo and the Filipino Community in Egypt brought together the best of Filipino snacks, tourism, and entertainment for crowd to enjoy.
A band of Filipinos based in Cairo and Alexandria performed a medley of Filipinos songs during the exhibition.
The SECS is a showcase of different cultures and traditions from all over the world held annually in Cairo.
It is organized by the El Sawy Culture Wheel a private cultural center in Egypt founded in 2003 by Mohamed El-Sawy, Egypt’s former Minister of Culture.
This year’s edition highlighted the cultures of East Africa, Asia, and Australia on the second day. Participating countries during “East Day†included the Philippines, Australia, China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, Nepal, Palestine, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam. (PNA)
