NCRPO all set to secure school opening, rainy season
By Christopher Lloyd T. Caliwan
MANILA, June 1 (PNA) -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced Wednesday that it will implement maximum deployment of police operatives as part of security preparations for the opening of classes and onset of the rainy season this month.

NCRPO Regional Director Joel Pagdilao ordered the deployment of 7,153 cops in 853 schools and in 212 bus stations in Metro Manila.

“We are expecting 2.6 million of students from kinder to senior high school to go to school on June 13. Our priority is to secure them against lawless elements and keep the school premises safe from all perpetrators,” he said.

Pagdilao also ordered all District Directors, Chiefs of Police and Station Commanders to focus on police presence as he presented the NCRPO’s four operational guidelines: General safety of students; Restoring and maintaining order at school vicinities; Crime prevention; and Campaign against criminal elements and crime syndicates.

”We put premium in the safety and security of our students here in Metro Manila, especially those in the elementary and high school. Their vulnerability to be target of criminals and other opportunists because of their tender age is something that must be protected by our men in the field,” the NCRPO Chief added.

The NCRPO will implement maximum deployment of Beat Patrols, Tactical Motorcycle Riders (TMRs) and mobile/MCs and bike patrol, Bus Marshals/Detectives, and will engage traffic enforcers and force multipliers within the vicinities of schools, bus/ jeepney stops and terminals.

He said the NCRPO will also set up Police Assistance Desks at various schools and universities in the metropolis.

Pagdilao and his command group together with the Department of Education-NCR Regional Director, Dr. Ponciano A Menguito, representatives from Office of the Civil Defense (OCD-NCR) and representatives from the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) discuss the plans and collaboration programs to ensure that the coming “balik eskwela 2016” will be smooth and secure to all students, academic workers, and the public.

Police Assistance Desks will also be put up in all private and public schools, colleges and universities all over Metro Manila to provide immediate security assistance to all students, and to protect them against possible holdup men and snatchers.

Also, Pagdilao affirmed that the NCRPO is prepared for the anticipated rainy season and ready to respond to the security needs of the public during the occurrence of any calamity. However solicits the public support and cooperation.

He reminded the public to be vigilant and alert at all times as criminals may take advantage during calamities and disasters.

“Huwag po nating hayaang malusutan tayo ng mga k******n o ng iba pang mga masasamang loob sa panahon ng tag-ulan,” Pagdilao added. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
