The province, both the private and government sectors, kicked off its initial preparation for its participation in the 18th Philippine Travel Mart slated on Sept. 7 to 9 at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
Being a prime tourists' destination, the province is eyeing to occupy not just a booth but a pavilion which will showcase the new tourist destinations in the country.
Chair Peter Dejaresco of the Provincial Tourism Council (PTC) said that it is time for the province to promote "new destinations" as most people already know and have seen the "signature" destinations of Bohol like the world-famous Chocolate Hills and the floating restaurants in Loboc and Loay towns.
Aside from the active participation of the private sector, some municipalities which have potential tourist attractions ready for marketing will be highlighted during the RP Travel Mart.
Prov'l Kagawad Corazon Galbreath, PTC co-chair said that these LGUs should promote their areas which are accessible and has the right evaluation in terms of packaging and costing.
She cautioned LGUs that once they go out to promote a destination, then everything is prepared, including its pricing so that tourists who would come to see the new destinations will not get disappointed.
The province is planning to occupy one pavilion which measures 9 x 6 meters.
A concept design of the Bohol pavilion will be discussed next week during the meeting of the PTC execom slated at the Butterflies in Loboc town to be hosted by Kag. Galbreath.
