Alway use your credit card not your debit card when purchasing anything online.
What's the difference?
Credit Card - When you file a dispute regarding your recent online purchase to your credit card company, your credit card company will temporary credit your account while your dispute is being investigated. This eliminate paying interest rate on that specific charge and the company you are in dispute will not have your money. If your dispute is valid, credits given to your account will remain in your account. If your dispute is invalid your account will immediately be charge for the same amount of purchased.
Debit Card - Remember when you are using your debit card for something you bought at your local store or online shopping website, once debit card transaction occur your bank immediately deducted the amount of sale. Which means your money (amount purchased) is now out of your account and into the merchant's account. If you are to dispute this charge your bank no longer able to get that money back per your immediate demand. Of course your bank will investigate per your letter request but in reality you are under the merchant's control because it is up to the merchant to either refund your money or not.
Hints:
_File your dispute in writing for paper trail (proof) purposes, never rely on verbal complaint.
_File your dispute immediate, often credit card companies gives you 30 days from date listed on your statement.
_Keep your receipts, copy of your complain letters and list of names whom you had dealt with for references.
_Remember, the best scenario under these circumstances is to have your money in your pocket not theirs.
