The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) will pursue its consultations regarding the holding of the triennial global grand homecoming of Boholanos from all over the world, popularly known as Tigum Bol-anon sa Tibuok Kalibutan (TBTK).

However, instead of calling it an official inquiry into alleged irregularities in the management of TBTK activities, Vice Gov. Julius Caesar Herrera clarified the move is aimed to make improvements in the next homeoming festivities.

The SP joint committee formed specifically to conduct the consultations convened for the first time last Tuesday.

The joint committee is composed of the SP committees on Appropriation, Tourism, Culture and Arts and Women/Family Welfare which is co-chaired by Herrera, Board Members Corazon Galbreath, Amalia Tirol and Atty. Aster Piollo.

During the SP session last Tuesday, Piollo scored critics in media who made comments regarding the delayed investigation into alleged mismanagement of funds allocated for the different TBTK activities.

It was Piollo who first questioned the handling of financial appropriations of the provincial government to medical missions that were part of the TBTK activities.

The lady lawmaker likewise raised questions on the propriety of the attire that contestants were made to wear during the TBTK Miss Bohol International beauty pageant.

"This consultation is just done in aid of legislation and not merely done for the purpose of finding lapses in the conduct of the TBTK activities," Herrera said.

During its initial meeting, the joint committee identified the nature of activities during the TBTK, its objectives and organizational structure.

The joint committee has agreed to invite several personalities who are actively involved in the TBTK festivities such as former governor Rene Relampagos, FCB president Argeo Melisimo, Carmen Gatal, provincial health consultant Francisca Baluyot, publicist Loy Palapos, Betty Balatero, Pureza Veloso-Chatto and city councilor Mariquit Oppus.

First round of consultations is set on Sept. 4. - the Bohol Chronicle

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
