Ref. Art. NO. 317-Local Board of Assessment Appeals Implementating the Rules and Regulation of R. A. 7160:
This is a Board created by said Law, to hear and adjudicate complaints filed by property owner
Steps/Procedure on filing complaints:
IMPORTANT-THE COMPLAINT MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE BOARD WITHIN 60 DAYS UPON RECEIPT OF THE NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT OR TAX DECLARATION. FILING AFTER THIS DATE IS LEGALLY INFIRMED.
1. Pay in full first your real property tax.
2. Request the clerk of the Treasurer to place on the receipt "Paid Under Protest"
3. WITH The receipt, the tax declaration and the proper WRITTEN complaints prepared and
Notarized by by your lawyer, go to the Local Board of Assessment Appeal and file your
complaints.
4. Have it received for your future reference;
5. Wait for some instructions from the clerk receiving your papers. You will be advised to come
back on future date for the formal hearing with the Assessor.
