Bolt-cutter gang hits city shops
Published: December 24, 2006 by The Bohol Standard
THE dreaded Bolt Cutter Gang believed coming from neighboring cities hit at least two business establishments in the city this week.
The Du Ek Sam store at Grupo street and the B & J Computers in Gallares were both burglarized in the same manner, cutting the main door locks and destroying booths inside the store.
City police criminal investigator SPO3 Alberto Puagang said the modus operandi of the suspects is similar and it could be the same group that hit the two stores days apart.
Three improvised iron crowbars were discovered in the scene of the crime at Du Ek Sam while the B & J store had the same markings of the bolt cutter gang.
The suspects are believed to be coming from the nearby cities and after operating in Tagbilaran, they bring out their loot and sell them outside Bohol.
The police are following up positive leads that will identify the gang’s local contacts.
