NPA warns barangay official on extortion
June 4, 2000 - Bohol Tribune

The New People’s Army will punish the barangay official alleged to have attempted to extort P50,000 from a supplier using the name of the underground movement.

The extortion try was foiled when a barangay tanod confessed to the potential victim during a confrontation.

Silvino “Ka Vino” Clamucha, spokesperson of the NPA-Regional Operational Command, during an exclusive interview with the CHRONICLE on Sunday, said that the penalty will depend on the degree of the offense.

If the “people’s court” finds out that an individual or a group has been repeatedly extorting innocent civilians by name dropping the NPA, punishment will be grave and heavy, he said.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
