Magnitude 3.2 earthquake causes no damage in La Union
SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Dec. 3 (PNA) -- No damage was reported in the magnitude 3.2 earthquake that jolted the province of La Union Saturday morning, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Region 1.
OCD said the tremor was felt by local residents at 8:57 a.m on Saturday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) traced the epicenter of the quake at six kilometers northwest of San Fernando City, La Union.
It was too weak to be felt in adjacent areas, including Dagupan City and Pangasinan.
Phivolcs said the temblor, which was tectonic in origin, had a shallow depth of 13 kilometers.
OCD quoted Phivolcs as saying that aftershocks were not expected. (PNA)
