Capitol to release P2.5M for cooperatives and POs

A total of P 2.5 million worth of checks is slated to be given by the Provincial Government of Bohol under the leadership of Gov. Erico Aumentado through the Bohol Poverty Reduction Management Office (BPRMO) as financial assistance to 25 cooperatives and People’s Organizations (PO) on December 18, 2006 at Acacia Garden, Capitol grounds.

The checks with amounts of P 100,000 each will be distributed by Gov. Aumentado and BPRMO head Boy Pernia to the presidents or representatives of beneficiary groups right after the flag ceremony of the provincial government’s employees.

The beneficiaries are Rural Economic Development Venture Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC), Subayon Upland Farmers MPC, Rizal MPC and Yanaya CARP Beneficiaries Irrigators MPC of Bilar; Maria Rosario Small Farmers Association and Riverside Small Farmers Association of Inabanga; Malitbog Agrarian Farmer Beneficiaries MPC, Candelaria MPC and San Vicente Livelihood MPC of Dagohoy.

San Roque Wavers MPC, Sagbayan Sur MPC, San Vicente Sur MPC and San Antonio MPC of Sagbayan; Abucay Sur MPC, New Life MPC, Can-agong MPC and Abucay Norte MPC of Sikatuna; United Agustinian MPC of Albur; Saint Vincent Farmers MPC and United Farmers of Tabok MPC of Danao; Camapatod MPC of Loon; Malinao East MPC and Jambawan MPC of Lila; San Isidro United Farmers MPC of Trinidad as well as the Farmers and Women’s MPC of Alicia are also slated to receive the said checks.

This financial assistance which is set to support the livelihood programs of the respective cooperatives and POs is part of the poverty reduction initiatives of the provincial government. (Jhaz/PGMA)
