We found out to our amazement that in the Senate there are more than enough talents to make up for a big show every time they have an event like the 92nd anniversary of the Philippine Senate.

The event, billed as "One Family (An Evening with the Senators and their Families)" was spearheaded by the Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. (with Rep. Cynthia A. Villar as president for the third term already), and was held last Oct. 7 at the very elegant Ang Maynila Restaurant of the historic Manila Hotel.

On hand to welcome the guests led by former President Joseph Estrada and former Senator Loi Ejercito were Senate President and Mrs. Manny Villar . The senator commended the SSPI for making the event possible. It was a formal affair and the lady senators, the senators’ wives and former senators were a sight to behold in their beautiful gowns.

The event was also a reunion of the present set of legislators with the former senators, as well as an occasion to honor those individuals and their companies who’ve always supported the Senate spouses in all their socio-civic undertakings. The honorees were Manila Bulletin and Manila Hotel Chairman Don Emilio T. Yap, Pagcor Chairman Ephraim Genuino, Carlo Estabillo of San Miguel Corp., and Aniceto Sobrepena of Metrobank Foundation.

The musical program, emceed by Mrs. Bing Pimentel (who is herself a gifted composer, lyricist and musical show producer) who said that there will be no discussion of politics at the party as political differences should be left at the Senate, started with a song number by Sen. Gringo Honasan’s daughter-in-law Yosha, followed by another song number by Aree Bautista, a nephew of Sen. Loren Legarda, and then a dance presentation was performed by two sons of Sen. and Mrs. Jinggoy Estrada, with two daughters of Sen. and Mrs. Bong Revilla. Then it was Bong and Lani’s turn to do a duet ("Ikaw"), followed by Audrey Zubiri’s rendition of "How Do I Live Without You" which she dedicated to her husband (who was in Singapore that time thus his absence at the event) after extolling Migz’s amazing qualities that’s why she fell in love with him despite their 13-year difference.

This is the good agenda to all senate families that join in one venue, of course, the special guest Joseph Estrada and Villar.
