Learn Czech language and find out about Czech culture and arts!
An "Introductory Czech Language and Culture Course" is offered for free this summer, the Czech Republic embassy’s contribution to “Viva Europa 2012,†the European Union's cultural showcase in the Philippines.
As the course title suggests, the "Introductory Czech Language and Culture Course" aims to provide basic information and insight on Czech language, culture, arts, and lifestyle. It will be a six-session program, to be held once a week lasting 1.5 hours per class.
The course will introduce conversational skills in various practical settings (that is, at the airport, ordering in a restaurant, and others) as well as rudimentary work on days, months, numbers, and colors.
Class work will be supplemented by presentations on Czech food, history, geography, arts and literature. Czech film screening is optional.
As Czech Republic is situated in the heart of Europe, this fun and informal Czech course is a good start-off point for those who would like to know more about Central Eastern Europe and Slavic languages.
