May bagong Sex ­Goddess na raw ang ­Philippine showbiz, at ang name niya ay Yam Concepcion.

Hindi ako sure kung kamag-anak siya nina Gabby at KC Concepcion, o ni Sam Concepcion.

Pero, sey ng Viva, na kung saan ay nakakontrata si Yam, ang 23-year old na dalaga, ay palaban daw talaga.

Sa FHM’s October issue nga raw ay naghubo tala­ga si Yam, at hindi naman daw napahiya ang magazine, dahil maituturing nila na biggest sellers ever ang issue na ito na cover si Yam.

The headline on the cover reads “Sexy Movies Are Back” and, yes, Yam is indeed leading the cinematic revival.

Ngayong November, she is set to be launched in the steamy, erotic adult drama Rigodon from veteran director Erik Matti (Scorpio Nights 2, Balahibong Pusa, etc.).

“I want to be known as someone who takes off my clothes but can act,” sabi ni Yam.
The FHM cover story and the movie are part of Viva’s plan to position Yam as this generation’s premiere sex symbol. Earlier this year the studio started giving the public a glimpse of the new star via Pantaxa, a sexy reality TV show on the Viva cable channel where Yam has emerged the brightest among the six (6) sexy new­comers.

Not only in the daring and baring department, she has also revealed herself to be smart and creative.

“I’m a person who likes to challenge myself when pushed to the limit,” sabi pa ni Yam sa interview ng FHM sa kanya.

“That’s how you test yourself, see how you deal with everything that comes your way. I’m just trying to be strong and versatile. I’m risking it all, that’s how life is -- you have to risk it and go out of your comfort zone, try different things and learn from it.”

The voluptuous star, a graduate of Multimedia Arts from the ­College of De La Salle Saint Benilde, has been in show business for a little under two years. She actually started out as a drummer for a rock band (called Ursa Minor).

Her first acting gig was in a music video for the band Mayonnaise, which became some sort of a screen test that got her to be signed by Viva.

Co-starring with Yam are John James Uy and Max Eigenmann.
