Accenture posts strong Q1 FY 2017 results
Global business process outsourcing and consulting firm Accenture said its revenues increased 6% in US dollars and 7% in local currency to USD8.5bn in Q1 FY 2017 over the same period last year. Net income for the quarter was USD1.06bn, a 22% increase from USD869m for the Q1 last year. In a press statement, Accenture said new bookings for the quarter were USD8.3bn, with consulting bookings of USD4.9bn and outsourcing bookings of USD3.4bn. Accenture’s total cash balance at 30 November 2016 was USD4.1bn, compared with USD4.9bn at 31 August 2016. Pierre Nanterme, Accenture’s chairman and CEO, said the company remains confident in its ability to continue driving profitable growth, gaining market share and delivering value for clients and shareholders.
