Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno has just made the holiday season special for two Court lawyers. Chief Justice Puno authorized them to attend a one-year training course on the latest in electronic commerce laws, among others, in Australia.

In a two-page administrative circular, Chief Justice Puno authorized Court Attorney IV Richard G. Evangelista of the Office of the Chief Attorney and Court Attorney IV Maria Rosario A. Labuguen of the Legal Office, Office of the Court Administrator to take up Master of Laws (e-Law) at the Monash University in Melbourne, Australia on official time. The training course starts in January next year.

The training course is aimed at keeping participants abreast of the laws relating to electronic commerce and the internet. The participants will learn the latest laws relating to electronic commerce and cover issues such as intellectual property and the internet, and the use of trademarks on websites and privacy laws, including the impact of privacy legislation upon digital networks.

Earlier, Court Attorney III Ma. Nena G. German of the Court Management Office and Judicial Supervisor Teresita A. Tuazon of the Office Deputy Court Administrator Jose P. Perez had been authorized to take up Master of Administrative Law and Policy at the University of Sydney, Australia also on official time.

These study grants were awarded by the Australian Government through the Philippines-Australia Human Resource Development Facility (PAHRDF). Funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), PAHRDF is a development initiative which aims to support the Government of the Philippines’ efforts to promote sustainable and equitable development through planned institutional capacity building programs for key government and private sector institutions.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
