Duterte said working in a call center needs good facility on the English language, which local residents need to keep up in order to get employed.

“They just need to improve their grammar and pronunciation and It will be easier for them to get employed. It is important that you can understand,” he said.

Duterte observed that it is easier for Davaoenos to adapt the English language to express themselves.

He said it only needs for local applicants to fine tune their voice, grammar and diction in order to qualify for the job.

Duterte projected that with the opening of two more malls in the city, around 20,000 jobs will be available for the city residents in the next two years.

“There is a better prospect for employment for the next two to three years in the city,” he said. (PNA)
