Sad day for Philippine Star readers: New Philippine Star Website Looks Horrible, So Slow

The biggest mistake any corporation could make is fixing something that is not broken. The original design/format of the Philippine Star (www.philstar) website loaded fast. The previous design was a lot better than PDI's. This is one reason why I loved reading Philippine Star online. (Take note of the past tense of love).

Lately, Philippine Star revamped the entire site, this time using Drupal software, an open-source application. This is tragic. Hundreds of thousands of Google-indexed articles of Philstar.com have disappeared, and could no longer be accessed by any reader. These digitally archived files of philstar.com were supposed to be part of our Philippine history. Now they are all gone. Before this disgusting, foolish change was made, one can read news stories dating as early as year 2002.

To make matters worse, the front page layout of philstar.com is one of the ugliest designs I've ever seen in the Internet. And worst, page load is horribly slow. Literally crawling regardless of what browser or Internet connection you use.

The online version of Philippine Star newspaper, for me, is now dead. Rest in peace.

"That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved."
