As part of its capacity-building partnership programs with power customers, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) continues to offer its comprehensive lineman's training modules to electric cooperatives nationwide.

Isabela II Electric Cooperative (ISELCO II) availed of NGCP's free course on April 2-3, 2012. As in past courses, lecturers and resource persons were from NGCP's regional and district operation and maintenance groups. Hands-on trainings and demonstration on line maintenance activities were also part of the two-day course in Ilagan, Isabela.

NGCP is the country's only power transmission service provider and system operator. It operates and maintains high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and other facilities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. ISELCO II, which distributes electricity in parts of Isabela, is one of NGCP's grid customers.

Although the lineman's training program is designed for electric cooperatives which acquired 69-kiloVolt lines or sub-transmission lines, it is available even to distribution utilities not acquiring sub-transmission facilities.

NGCP can customize its training modules to accommodate utilities who want to upgrade its personnel's capabilities. The transmission company conducts the training for free and provides the training modules and services of expert resource persons.

NGCP p President and chief executive Henry T. Sy, Jr. welcomed the growing interest of DUs and electric cooperatives in the training, which he cited as a good opportunity for capacity building and technical information exchange and cooperation.

NGCP's partnership with electric cooperatives in upgrading line maintenance skills is expected to result to faster restoration time, shorter power interruptions and overall improvement in power reliability and security.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
