The sports fest held in celebration of the Philippine Councilor’s League Bohol Day last Thursday, November 17, 2011 was hailed as a huge success.
PCL-Bohol President Ramonito A. Torrefranca said the affair conducted at the CPG Sports Complex was attended by close to 200 participants from the three districts of the province and the whole event were a fun-filled day marked with fellowship and sportsmanship.
Among the distinguished guests include Gov. Edgar Chatto, Provincial Administrator Ae Damalerio and Board Member Yul Lopez who each gave their inspiring messages.
Emerging as over-all winners were first district athletes who won first place in three events; basketball, volleyball and lawn tennis (double events).
Third district also swept the second place win lording in two events; chess and lawn tennis (single). Second district settled with one first place win in badminton.
The games started 11 o'clock in the morning with invocation by Loay councilor Steven Lim, followed by singing of the national anthem led by PCL VP (3rd District) Julita Tan and the reading of the PCL Creed by Board of Director Constancio Atuel.
PCL Pres Torrefranca led the welcoming of participants and then the games were opened by PCL Treasurer Ricky Masamayor followed by the Oath of Sportsmanship read by Board of Director Danilo Bandala.
