Pilar OFW grateful for Herrera’s help
Sunday Post: A family of overseas Filipino worker came down from Pilar town and paid a visit to Vice-Gov. Julius Herrera office last week purposely to expressed gratitude for the latter’s assistance extended to them.
Ms. Anesia Mante Panganoron and her daughter Ms. Bonivee Panganoron Hinay sincerely said in an exclusive interview that her family is very grateful for the assistance of Vice-Gov. Herrera to her husband.
Panganoron said that Herrera personally helped in facilitating the return home of her husband Olimpio Panganoron, who was sick in Saudi Arabia, where he worked as driver of a company for 19 years.
The vice-governor has exerted efforts for contacting key agencies and arranging for the safe return home of Mr. Panganoron, who suffered heart-related illness.
She admitted that without Herrera’s assistance it would have been a different story or maybe it would take time or delay of the return home of her husband.
Panganoron also said that Herrera also assisted in the facilitating the release of money claims for her husband.
She also thanked Pilar Sangguniang Bayan secretary Bert Jaspe for indorsing them to Herrera’s office for the said assistance.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Assistance Desk of the vice-governor has been documenting hundreds of Boholano OFWs in distress abroad as a commitment to public service since Herrera took over as vice-governor in 2001. (RVO)
