Agricultural advancement in Bohol
« on: June 28, 2009, 08:37:13 PM »
Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Center Director Dr. Carlolyn May Daquio of Region Vll other advocates in pushing Maribijoc and San Isidro to be the show windows and pace-setters in agricultural advancement in Bohol.

The move came during a meeting at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) last June 16 where 45 represented 165 non-government organizations, non-government agencies, peoples organizations and private advocates of organic farming.

They wanted to call on the Provincial Board to consider the experiences of the municipalities of Maribojoc and San Isidro when acting for agricultural development.

BOCAP Coordinator Bominda Flores presented their shredder machine and design opened an invitation to local officials to facilitate donation for the power supply to run the shedder machine that will grind the rice straw and other plant leaves that they will feed the African night crawlers for fast production of vermicast, and an area of about 400 square meters that they can utilize for solar drying which can be an open basketball court.

This way, farmers can spare the roads as their drying area and keep from contamination of the carbon monoxide emited by vehicles passing by.

The group agreed to focus first on serving the 21 municipalities where POs hold base and deal, later, with the 33 Bohol Internal Guarantee System (BIGS) having the refinement area in place and the certification on their products as full organic.

The points were contained in the 53-page proposed Provincial Organic Agriculture Program (POAP), which

Provincial Agriculturist Liza Quirog, who presided the meeting, wanted to be as comprehensive as possible as they aim to get the attention of the PB on this by this week. (DIOSDADO MAQUILING)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
